Chocolate Chip Banana Bread

Can you guys tell I have been obsessed with bananas lately?! Hahaha well today I bring you a new recipe and it has chocolate in it! I had overripe bananas at home and I did not want it to waste…perfect excuse to make banana bread! I also made this with whole wheat flour because I did not have white flour at home and I can tell you it was so moist and it tasted so good with the melted chocolate chip. I don’t think I will miss white flour to be honest. Enough of my rambling, to bake this you will need:

6 mini or 3 large overripe bananas

1.5 cup of Whole wheat all purpose Flour

1 teaspoon baking soda

1 teaspoon baking powder

118g unsalted butter

2 large eggs

1/3 cup sugar

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon nutmeg powder

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/4 cup evaporated milk

1 cup chocolate chips

Directions

1. Grease the cake pan with butter or lime with parchment paper. Preheat oven to 180ºC/350ºF/gas 4.

2. Mash bananas with a fork

3.  In a separate bowl mix together your dry ingredients: flour, salt, baking powder, baking soda, nutmeg, sugar.

4. In another bowl, mix sugar, melted butter, eggs, milk and vanilla extract with a hand whisk until well combined.

5. With a spatula or wooden spoon, gently stir in the dry ingredients into the wet mixture (sugar, butter, eggs) until flour is well combined.

6. Stir in the mashed bananas and mix until it’s well combined. Do not over mix.

7. Transfer the batter into the greased pan.

8. Bake in the oven for about 50minutes to 1 hour or until a toothpick or fork inserted comes out clean.

9. When baked, take out from the oven and place it on a rack to cool.

10. Serve yourself a slice and enjoy!

NOTE: You can bake this without the Chocolate Chips, it tastes good either way!

See you next time.
