Delicious and Easy Home Fries

Hey Friends, today I bring to you YUMMY Home Fries! Potatoes have seriously become one of my favourite dish recently and I really cannot help myself, it’s like the new ‘rice’ for me except it’s potatoes. Let me assure you this dish is so easy to make and it is a great breakfast option (a break from toast and eggs). Now let us get right to it! You will need:

1kg yellow/white potatoes or 7 medium sized potatoes

2 teaspoon salt (for parboiling the potatoes)

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1/4 teaspoon thyme

1/2 teaspoon white pepper

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon paprika

1/4 teaspoon garlic flakes

1/3 cup melted butter

Directions

  1. Pre-heat your oven at 200 degrees Celsius

  2. Wash, peel & dice potatoes into cubes as shown above

  3. Bring to boil in pot of water (with 2 teaspoon salt) for about 5 minutes. You are doing this to pre-cook and not to get it soft. This will enable it to cook more evenly in the oven and make your home fries moist on the inside.

  4. After 5 minutes turn off the heat and drain the potatoes.

  5. Now add the spices (thyme, paprika, garlic, white pepper, black pepper, 1/4 teaspoon salt). Also pour in the melted butter and stir together till the potatoes are coated as shown below.

  6. Now transfer the potatoes into a baking tray and spread them out on the tray.

  7. Pop them into the oven and grill for 20-30 minutes or until crisp and browned.

  8. Your home fries are ready to eat! That easy. I paired mine with sausages and eggs, so yummy!

Hope you try this and enjoy it as much as I did. It is a hearty meal trust me! lool Be sure to leave your comments and share with family and friends!

Till the next recipe Xx
